5 Regional Workshops to Get Your Hands Dirty

With artisanal products, traditional techniques and DIY projects popping up everywhere these days, we took a look at how to get 'hands-on' around the region. Whether you're into art or ancient artifacts, cheese makers or garden gurus, roll up your sleeves and get down to one of these wonderful workshops.

Cheese Making Classes

Join award winning Bellarine cheesemaker Corinne Blacket from Drysdale Cheeses for a hands-on class in either Camembert or Cheddar. Learn how to make your own simple cheese and cheese-inspired dishes, with tips, techniques and recipes included.

Classes are held at Springdale Commuity Centre and you can book your spot by calling 52531960.

Winter Cooking Classes

Part cooking class, part dinner party, the always-popular series returns to Terindah Estate. Designed for food lovers of all abilities, Terindah's talented chefs show you how to make the most of seasonal produce, prepare a range of delicious dishes and even share the recipes to take home. 

Classes run from 5:30pm - 9:30 and include lessons, wine and a relaxed dinner.

Queenscliff Gallery Art Workshops

The Queenscliff Gallery offers a broad range of classes and workshops, giving budding artists the chance to learn about everything from Drypoint and Print Exchange, to Wood Engraving and Mezzotint. There's also General Drawing sessions, and private mentoring available from master artists and tutors. 

Fantastic for everyone from beginners to more established artists looking to expand their practice. Most materials are included, so don your best beret and book now.

Little Green Corner

At Little Green Corner they strive to keep everything fresh. They forage, gather and grow, keeping the focus on the regions gardens and farms and building menus around what's in season.

Every month the boys are running workshops, with subjects ranging from knife handling to gnocchi making, foraging guides and sustainable gardening tutorials. Roll up your sleeves and get involved.


Basil’s Winter Gardening Workshop

Take your garden from good to great witha visit to Basil's. Run by in-house gardening gurus - Ben (Permaculture Gardener) and Igor (Farm Manager) - classes provide hands-on advice about a host of subjects including seasonal planting, working with worms, winter propagation, soil health, garden design and many more.
