Shop It Like It's Hot: Ocean Grove
For originality and quirkiness you must visit KYO, tucked in at the back of an industrial area there’s a huge range of unique global furniture, homewares, textiles and outdoor items. Much of the stock is one-off, antique and certain to start conversations next time you have visitors.
Stone and Grain is a fabulous homeware and giftware store – I bought a mirror here three years ago that is still my absolute favourite item in our house! On the same trip I also picked up a beautiful, bright scarf as a birthday gift for my Mum, and somehow managed to resist the fabulous floating flamingo pool toy that grabbed my attention in the window.
Wander along the main street, The Terrace, with its Norfolk Pines discovering fashion, surfwear, kidswear as you go. Don’t let the name fool you – Ocean Grove Hardware is more than just tools. We love some of their enormous prints and the coastal-luxe homewares.
Van Loons Nursery, just out of town in Wallington, is another great shopping spot with a range of plants and unique garden products as well as decorative outdoor products, home décor and gifts.
